Percy Paul Krueger, 81, passed away peacefully with members of his family at Bryan Hospital in Lincoln.

Percy was born Nov. 24, 1942, in Lincoln, to Clarence and Elsie (Sieck) Krueger. Percy grew up in the Sprague-Martell area and attended Central High School, graduating in the Class of ’60. Percy and Carol J. Burianek were united in marriage on Sept. 21, 1968. Percy and Carol have two children, William E. Krueger and Stacy S. Moore.

After returning from a tour of duty in Vietnam in 1966, Percy applied his craft of operating heavy equipment, which was a passion he developed while serving his country. He worked for Lancaster County and finished with 27 years at the City of Lincoln. The youngest of two sons, Percy enjoyed working on the family farm with his late brother, Larry L. Krueger.

Percy was known for being a great family man, a friendly neighbor and a reliable friend to so many in his community. He enjoyed spending time with his five grandsons and making sure they understood the rural lifestyle he enjoyed so much. Percy enjoyed playing cards with family and friends whenever possible. Percy and Carol enjoyed traveling with friends and family and would often make sure they stopped by local casinos or places with keno to enjoy themselves.

Percy was beloved by all who were privileged to know him and will be dearly missed by so many.

Percy is survived by his wife, Carol Krueger; his son and daughter-in-law Bill and Becky (Mitchell) Krueger of Prairie Village, Kansas, and their family, Christian and Lauren (Bukaty) Krueger, great-grandson, Michael W. (Mac) Krueger, Brandon and Victoria (Whitaker) Krueger and Austin Krueger, all of whom live in Kansas City; his daughter and son-in-law, Brent and Stacy Moore of Roca, and their family, Logan Moore and Megan Christiansen and Layton Moore, who currently live on the original family farm; his brother-in-law, Richard L. Burianek of Pleasant Dale; and sister-in-law, Shirley Mariska of Crete.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Elsie Krueger; brother, Larry Krueger; father and mother-law, Edward and Evelyna Burianek; sister-in-law, Diane Burianek; and brother-in-law, Neil Mariska.
