David Paul May, 70, of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, passed away Aug. 5, 2024, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. He was under the loving care of his devoted wife, Corine, married for over 30 years, and dedicated Hospice caregivers, for the last 10 months of his life.

He loved his dogs. Over his life, he had a Husky, a Chow and several Rough Collies. He also had a love of horses, and raised them while growing up in Kansas. He was an avid and talented golfer and achieved three holes-in-one during his golfing days. He especially enjoyed playing golf with his son, Brett, and nephew, Donald.

David also enjoyed traveling with Corine, and visited Australia, New Zealand and Spain, as well as many other interesting places.

David received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Kansas Wesleyan University, Salina, Kansas, and Juris Doctor Degree from Drake University Law School, Des Moines, Iowa.

He started in private practice with Michael McMurry at McMurry and May, Attorneys at Law, Ankeny, Iowa. After private practice, he became very successful in corporate law, working with state and federal regulatory issues, primarily in the insurance industry.

He is survived by his wife, Corine, and beloved son, Brett May, from David’s first marriage. He is also survived by David’s brother, John May, Florida, along with niece, Janel May Boshoff (Carlo); nephew Donald May; aunts, Harriet Bouska Rothkop and Jerrine Bouska Larsen; and many loving cousins scattered over the United States in California, Colorado, Massachusetts, Missouri, Montana and Nebraska. He was the grandson of the late Jerry and Vera Bouska and the late C.P. and Fairy May, Crete.

David was preceded in death by his much-loved parents, Ernie and Verlee Bouska May, formerly of Nebraska, and later of Kansas and Montana.

At the request of David, there will be no funeral service.
