Posted

We are deeply saddened by the events that occurred on Friday, June 28. Our hearts go out to all those affected by this traumatic incident.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the Crete Police Department, the Saline County Sheriff's Office, the Nebraska State Patrol and all the first responders who acted quickly and bravely to ensure the safety of our community.

Your dedication and service are truly commendable, and we want you to know your efforts are deeply appreciated.

Crete is an amazing place to live, and it is our unity and resilience that make our community so special. It is essential for us to stay together and support one another.

Crete Public Schools provided counselors and support staff on June 29 and 30 at the Cardinal Welcome Center to any student, staff or community members needing support during this time.

Crete Public Schools is committed to providing ongoing support as our community continues to heal after Friday's event. If anyone needs help after Sunday, they can use Let's Talk or the “Contact Us” link on our website and choose “Crisis Response & Support.” They will be connected with one of our amazing support professionals.

Please do not hesitate to reach out if you or someone you know needs assistance.

Safety is our number one priority, and we will continue to work towards maintaining it. Let us stand together, stronger than ever, and continue to make Crete and Crete Public Schools a safe, supportive, and thriving community for all.
